My work at the moment is all about nature. We are as human beings united with nature and part of the system of life. As Alexander spirkin says “if we lose nature’s image, we lose our life”
In my paintings I am trying to explore this and understand it. I like the idea that through nature we can draw parallels with our own existence - force, fragility, endurance, colour, light and shade, life and death. Nature speaks to me metaphorically, I engage with it emotionally. I try to take what I see beyond representation to create mood and atmosphere. I am looking to catch an ephemeral moment, splashing, rustling, flickering light, and take it to a place between figurative and abstract. To be confirmed
